Store vs. business, get this one right
Tavvi organizes everything as a business that runs stores. Your bakery is the business; the shop, the farmers-market stall, and the new eastside location are its stores. That structure decides what's shared:
- Add a store when it's the same business in a new place: same brand, same owner, new location with its own hours, catalog, and register.
- Add New HQ when it's genuinely a different venture, your bakery AND your candle side-business are two businesses, not two stores. Different brand, different books.
The five-second test: would one customer loyalty balance make sense across both? Same business. Would it be weird? Different business.
Add the store
Open My Businesses, the screen that lists your businesses and, under each, its Stores.
On your business, tap Add Store. "Fill in the details for your new store location.", name, address, the usual birth certificate.
The new store starts life like your first one did: set its hours (they drive online orders AND bookings), build or copy its catalog, and pair its hardware if the location has any. The getting-started guides all apply, per store.
What's shared, what's separate
- Shared across the business: your account, your team roster (members get assigned per store, one person can work at several), and customer rewards, points earned with the business spend at ANY of its stores. Your regulars keep their balance wherever you set up.
- Separate per store: hours, catalog and prices, hardware, settings, reports, and the day's batches. The eastside store's quiet Tuesday doesn't hide in the flagship's numbers.
Hopping between stores
The business switcher, the same control you use to flip between the POS and consumer sides, lists every store. Switch Store, pick the location, and the whole register re-dresses itself as that store: its catalog, its orders, its settings. One phone can run the market stall in the morning and the shop in the afternoon.
If something's off
- Sales landing in the wrong store. Someone's register is switched to the wrong location, the switcher shows the current store at the top; check it at open, especially on shared devices.
- A team member can't clock in at the new store. Assignment is per store, add them to it from the team screen (Add Store), and they're in.
- You added a store but meant a new business. They're different structures (rewards and team would be shared when they shouldn't be). Delete the misplaced store (Delete Store? asks first) and use Add New HQ instead.
